Taraji P Henson is one of our favourite actresses at the moment and its little wonder why! With her spunky spirit and down to earth personality, shes’s one of Hollywood’s finest.
In this intimate interview via W Magazine, she describes about how her dad encouraged her to be an actress, what it was like to sing about pimps and whores at the Oscars, and how she landed the role of Cookie on Empire in her Screen Test interview with Editor at Large Lynn Hirschberg. Click the play button above to watch the full video.
She studied Acting at Howard University and first came to the lime-light playing the role Yvette in widely acclaimed movie, Baby Boy, alongside singer/actor Tyrese.
She did a phenomenal job as supporting actress in the movie, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (and has an Academy Award to show for it too!)
Her role as the bad-ass street savvy Cookie Lyon in Fox’s Empire, is all the rave right now and a crowd favourite! From Cookie’s street savvy attitude to her amazing ghetto fabulous closet…Taraji owned the this character and is keeping us all on our toes for what’s to come in the 3rd season of Empire.
In contrast to her on screen character, Taraji keeps it simple and elegant on the red carpet in long flowing dresses of neutral colours and fitted styles.
These are just a few reasons why we love Taraji P Henson, its nothing but upwards for this Hollywood Starlet!
Catch her now on season 2 of Empire on FOX.
