So, what is #NaijaBrandsRock? It’s an initiative to raise the profile of Nigerian based and owned brands with the intention to promote a more inward-thinking approach to our beauty, fashion & lifestyle spending habits. Foreign brands are perceived to be more lust worthy in comparison to their Nigerian counterparts, however when it comes to quality, many products do hold their own.
Did you know that, a lot of well known international companies outsource the manufacturing of their products? Brands such as Mac, Burberry & LV for example manufactory globally depending on the particular product lines. Despite the outsourcing however, the brands perceived value is not compromised due to the overall strength of the brand.
Certain countries are well known for the manufacturing of goods, such as France, Italy, America and the Far East and while Nigeria may not be in the position to create all the raw materials and packaging for all the goods we consume, our unique entrepreneurial nature means that this is not a hindrance to the many business minded individuals creating their own brands.
So, not only can you get quality, Nigerian owned product, the current economic state of the country also means there’s no better time acknowledge that Naija Brands Rock!
